How Clara Tests a Photo App
Every photo app Clara reviews runs the same gauntlet: a set of her own RAW files from a real camera, portraits shot in poor indoor light, landscapes with flat skies, and one night street scene. Each AI tool is judged at full size on a large screen, because a phone display forgives artefacts that a monitor does not.
Exports matter as much as edits. A finished photo is compared at 100 percent in every export format the app offers, and any tool that smears detail, halos an edge or waxy-smooths skin gets marked down in writing, with the photo that proved it described in the review.
Background
Clara came to app reviewing from event and portrait photography, where the same three failures appear in every set: bad light, flat colour and tired skin retouching. That history shapes the reviews here: light tools first, colour second, and portrait AI only ever praised when real skin texture survives it.
